Dear friends and followers,
I'm writing to announce that I will be ending production of my products (as they are currently) at the end of December 2016.
There are a lot of factors that have played into making this decision, but I'm extremely excited for the adventures to come -- which will involve this sweet lil biddy of a camper!!
Love for plant medicine will always be apart of my life, and with this new phase I'm looking forward to spending time reinvigorating and nourishing my relationship to the plants -- there may even be another product idea in the works... though I'm not rushing anything yet, and am looking forward to dreaming this next part of life into being while I digest the last 4 years of the Just Herbals experience.
In the meantime, stay tuned for traveling medicine show adventures, potential classes (so I can show you guys how to make your own products!) and get the last of your Just Herbals fixes at my remaining markets or online with free shipping for the rest of the month.
You can find me at:
Wellness Connect.info Holiday Event ::: Thurs. Dec. 8th 9-3pm
Pigeon Cove Ferments Pop-up ::: Sat. Dec. 10th 5:30-9:30pm
CAFM - Cape Ann Farmers Market ::: Sat. Dec. 17th 10-1pm
Present Gloucester ::: Sun. - Sat. 10-5 until xmas eve, 261 Main St. Gloucester
If you see me at market, hugs are welcome if I start crying when I tell you thanks for supporting me these last 4 years. It has really meant the world to me <3

the Story
Hi! and welcome to Just Herbals! My name is Emma Scully and I'm the herbalist behind the makings of Just Herbals. I grew up and currently live in Ipswich, MA on beautiful land that's like a secret sanctuary my mother has care-taken for a private family since 1992. This is where I'm starting the Just Herbals garden. Across the field from the backyard garden, I look at the back side of Crane's beach, Little Neck, Plum Island and the mouth of the Ipswich river opening to the Atlantic Ocean. It's pretty hard for people my age to even afford living in a place like Ipswich these days, let alone have the gorgeous ocean views and quiet open space full of wildlife. To say the least, I'm incredibly grateful, especially to my mom for this opportunity.
Starting in 2005, I became fascinated with the world of herbal medicine after taking a college class in Herbal Pharmacology with Margi Flint of Marblehead, MA which led to years of attending various classes, conferences and workshops all over New England. In 2008 I lived in a tent at Sage Mountain for 2 months while working in their magical gardens in exchange for taking classes with Rosemary Gladstar and other guest teachers like Anne McIntyre, Guido Masé, Betsy Bancroft, Micki Visten, Amy Goodman Kiefer, and Kathleen Maier.
Since then, I've participated in Goldthread Apothecary's Farm to Pharmacy Program with William Siff and Farmacy Herbs Summer Intensive Program with Mary Blue and guest teachers Larken Bunce, Dr. Jody Noe, and Dr. John Mcgonigle. While I was taking programs at Goldthread and Farmacy, I was also working in their busy apothecaries as production manager making all the herbal goodies, and learning a ton just by talking to customers and interns daily about herbs. In spring of 2011 I attended a Street Medic Training in Vermont. At Farmacy in the winter of 2011, two other friends and I started seeing clients and offering herbal consultations. This was a very special time of learning more about the art of herbalism.
In the winter of 2012, after 3 years experience working and helping run these businesses I felt the pull to take the leap and start Just Herbals. So here I am! I also really want to thank Mary Blue. Without the example she set for me at Farmacy, I'm not sure I would have felt confident enough to do this on my own, so thank you Mary!
